Preview: Lafayette Christian Academy Knights vs. Peabody Warhorses
The Lafayette Christian Academy Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Peabody Warhorses at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Peabody likes a good challenge.
Two weeks ago, Lafayette Christian Academy faced St. Thomas More in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lafayette Christian Academy fell to St. Thomas More 44-40. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The losing side was boosted by Jujuan Johnson, who threw for 395 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Grogan, who picked up 154 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Peabody walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Booker T. Washington 42-6 at home. The result was nothing new for Peabody, who have now won five contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
St. Thomas More's win bumped their season record to 10-0 while Lafayette Christian Academy's loss dropped theirs to 8-2.
