Basketball Recap: Watts Engineers vs. Afton Eagles
Watts lost against Afton back in January of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Watts Engineers were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of the Afton Eagles. The Engineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Afton found their leader in sophomore Aiden Victor, who went 10 for 20 on his way to 29 points and five steals. The game was Victor's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Barton, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.
Watts' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Afton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5.
Watts will venture away from home to take on Bokoshe at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Afton, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Afton Eagles face off against the Fairland Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fairland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
