Volleyball Recap: Amplus Academy Comes Up Short

Amplus Academy had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it seven. They came up short against the Chaparral Cowboys, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 2nd.

Amplus Academy's offense was headlined by Benjamin Hulet and Blake Taylor, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Gideon Schelin and his 15 assists.

As for Chaparral, the win got them back to even at 15-15. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

Leading Chaparral to victory were Liam Bade and Jordan Pierce. Bade had ten kills and two blocks, while Pierce had 14 kills, six digs, and two aces. Pierce has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 57 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joseph Cunanan, who had nine digs and four aces.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Amplus Academy will take on rival Del Sol at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chaparral is set to challenge their familiar foe Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
