Basketball Game Preview: Fivay Falcons vs. Cypress Creek Coyotes

The Fivay Falcons will challenge the Cypress Creek Coyotes on Wednesday.

Fivay will head out to face Cypress Creek after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. Fivay fell 48-38 to Countryside. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Cougars are ranked 149th).

Fivay's defeat came about despite a quality game from Odell Brown, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dominick Walsh, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cypress Creek walked away with it. They blew past the Bulldogs 75-55 on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Coyotes who have now won three matches in a row.

Cypress Creek has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Fivay, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-7.

Everything came up roses for Fivay against Cypress Creek in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured an 87-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fivay since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
