Baseball Game Preview: Slinger Owls vs. Beaver Dam Golden Beavers

Slinger is 0-4 against Beaver Dam since April of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Owls will square off against the Golden Beavers at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Slinger 2.9, Beaver Dam 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Slinger is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Watertown.

Chase Leverance was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May. The team also got some help courtesy of Macay Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Slinger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Beaver Dam had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 10-5. Beaver Dam's victory was all the more impressive since the Spartans were averaging only 3.73 runs allowed on the season.

Slinger's record now sits at 21-6. As for Beaver Dam, their record is now 19-6.

Slinger might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Beaver Dam in their previous meeting back in April of 2017. Can the Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
