Game recap: Lezzer sparks Clearfield's victory over Bellefonte

Christian Lezzer threw three touchdowns and ran for two more as Clearfield (Pa.) defeated Bellefonte (Pa.) 49-14 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Lezzer in the first quarter, the Bison led 42-7 at the half.

Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 35.

With the win Clearfield extended its winning streak to six games. CHS defeated the Wildcats 35-14 last week.

The Raiders' Kahsim Buey played well. The sophomore running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.



Coming into the game the Bison had allowed 18.2 points per game this year. Clearfield held firm on the defensive front, and kept Bellefonte well below the 22.4 points it had been averaging per game.

CHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 44-0.

In a Mountain game next week Clearfield (6-0) takes on Tyrone, and Bellefonte (2-4) will go up against Penns Valley Area also in a Mountain game.
