Baseball Recap: Celina Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Celina's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Shawnee Indians by a score of 9-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Braylon Steinbrunner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Celina is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-6 otherwise. Steinbrunner was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Logan Sapp was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Celina's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for Shawnee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Celina will venture away from home to take on Kenton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Shawnee, they will host Lima Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
