Recap: Billingsley Bears vs. Notasulga Blue Devils
The Billingsley Bears lost against the Notasulga Blue Devils back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Billingsley took a 53-36 bruising from Notasulga. Billingsley has not had much luck with Notasulga recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Billingsley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Jones, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hudson Manning, who scored 12 points.
Billingsley has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Notasulga, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Billingsley will take on Thorsby at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Notasulga won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Beauregard at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Beauregard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Notasulga in Alabama (Beauregard is ranked 185th, while Notasulga is ranked 388th).
