Basketball Recap: St. George's Starts Season with Victory Against Wooddale

St. George gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the Wooddale Cardinals 59-28. The Gryphons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

St. George's found their leader in sophomore Carson Crump, who shot 60% from the field en route to 25 points. Kamyrn Green was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Wooddale is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, St. George's won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Craigmont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wooddale, they will face off against Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
