Basketball Recap: Terri Richardson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern Nash over Northern Nash

Southern Nash was the 50-46 winner over Northern Nash when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Southern Nash Firebirds fell 50-39 to the Northern Nash Knights on Tuesday. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southern Nash's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terri Richardson, who posted 12 points. Richardson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Croll, who earned eight points in addition to ten boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Southern Nash smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Southern Nash now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Northern Nash, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Nash will face off against Franklinton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northern Nash, they will challenge Rocky Mount at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mount will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Northern Nash surely won't give up without a fight.
