Basketball Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Louisville Leopards

The Avon Lake Shoremen will take on the Louisville Leopards in a tournament on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Avon Lake saw some tournament action on Saturday. They breezed past Garrett Morgan to the tune of 55-14. The Shoremen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Louisville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They strolled past the Generals with points to spare, taking the game 45-29. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Generals are ranked 613th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Avon Lake has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Louisville, they pushed their record up to 11-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
