Football Recap: Enloe Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Enloe dropped down to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a blow against the Leesville Road Pride, falling 40-13. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Defeat or not, Enloe got some senior leadership from Chase White and O'Sean Johnson. White gained 149 total yards and two touchdowns, while Johnson rushed for 159 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 159 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Johnson.

As for Leesville Road, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.2 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leesville Road to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damacio Cueto, who threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Cueto a new career-high in passer rating (171.1). Akshar Barnes was another key back, rushing for 85 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Enloe will head out to challenge Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Leesville Road, they are taking a road trip to square off against Corinth Holders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
