            Basketball Recap: Chiawana Riverhawks vs. Prosser Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            Chiawana unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took  a  76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prosser Mustangs on Tuesday. While the Riverhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs  20-13 in the first  quarter.
When it comes to explaining why Chiawana lost, don't look at  Kaia Foster. Despite the final result, she  almost  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and nine  rebounds. Foster is  on a roll when it comes to  boards, as she's  now  pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's  played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Malia Ruud, who  went 5 of 9  on her way to 11  points and seven  rebounds.

 Even though they lost, Chiawana  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 11  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive  contests  dating back to last season.
The  win made it two in a row for Prosser and  bumps their season record up to 2-0.
 Chiawana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  an  88-26  victory against Walla Walla on the 13th. As for Prosser, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  79-3  win against Quincy on the 13th.
