Wauneta-Palisade is 9-0 against Garden County since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Garden County Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Wauneta-Palisade turned things around against Perkins County on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Plainsmen out 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Broncos have posted since February 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garden County). They claimed a resounding 57-23 win over Minatare. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Garden County's win came from a few key players Wauneta-Palisade will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Korryn Beberniss, who went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ridglyn Stanczyk, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Garden County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 36 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Garden County's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Wauneta-Palisade, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Wauneta-Palisade strolled past Garden County in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 55-39. Will Wauneta-Palisade repeat their success, or does Garden County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
