Softball Recap: Thales Academy Apex Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Thales Academy Apex unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Cary Academy Chargers on Thursday, falling 23-11.

Sophie Stein made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Madeline Wehrenberg, who scored a run while getting on base in six of her five plate appearances.

The win got Cary Academy back to even at 1-1.

Thales Academy Apex will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cary Academy at 6:16 p.m. on March 20th. As for Cary Academy, they have already played their next match, a 19-1 defeat against Charlotte Latin on the 8th.
