Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Big Red vs. Danbury Lakers

The Plymouth Big Red will be taking part in a tournament against the Danbury Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Plymouth came up short against St. Paul and fell 53-43.

Meanwhile, Danbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 65-40 to Calvert. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 791st, while the Senecas are ranked 170th).

Plymouth's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Danbury, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Plymouth suffered a grim 85-64 defeat to Danbury in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Plymouth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
