Softball Recap: Dexter Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

Dexter got themselves on the board against Sandia Prep on Wednesday, but Sandia Prep never followed suit. They didn't even let the Sundevils on the board, marking their second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Demons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by ten runs or more this season.

Danyela Munoz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Issabellah Aguilar was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Sanders, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Dexter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive contests.

Dexter is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sandia Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Coming up, Dexter will square off against Ruidoso at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Demons surely won't give up without a fight. Sandia Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
