Softball Recap: Danville Comes Up Short

Danville extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-14. They lost 14-3 to the Austin Black Bears. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Black Bears from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Austin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-12. Considering they have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Austin's part, Arden Breedlove was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalilah Mason, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Austin beat Danville by a score of 3-1 on Friday.
