Baseball Recap: Ramsey Wins Going Away Against Paramus

Ramsey won the last time they faced Paramus and things went their way on Friday too. The Rams blew past the Spartans 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Patrick Connell and Connor McNally were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Connell pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, McNally tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Connell went 2-for-4 with two runs, while McNally went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was McNally's first of the season.

In other batting news, Ramsey got a massive performance out of Roberto Cotes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave Cotes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Sailer, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Ramsey is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Paramus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ramsey will host Mahwah at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Paramus, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ridgewood at 4:15 p.m.
