Basketball Game Preview: Santiam Christian Eagles vs. Taft Tigers

The Santiam Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Taft Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Wednesday, Santiam Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Jefferson. The Eagles have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Taft entered their tilt with Blanchet Catholic on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cavaliers 55-20. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taft is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Santiam Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Santiam Christian took a serious blow against Taft in their previous meeting back in January, falling 48-21. Can Santiam Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
