Softball Recap: Edwardsville Snags 12th Win in Last 14 Games

Edwardsville barely beat Collinsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Kahoks on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Edwardsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Collinsville, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edwardsville will venture away from home to take on Mater Dei at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Collinsville, they will head out on the road to square off against Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Kahoks are facing the Explorers at the right time seeing as the Explorers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
