Soccer Game Preview: Heritage vs. George Jenkins

The Heritage Panthers will face off against the George Jenkins Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will be strutting in after a win while George Jenkins will be coming in after a defeat.

Heritage's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Eau Gallie by a score of 2-0. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Commodores are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, George Jenkins' good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of McKeel Academy by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were red-hot offensively headed into the contest (they scored no less than four goals in the three games prior) but the Wildcats' defense proved too tough.

George Jenkins' goal came courtesy of Brady Pennewell, who's now up to six this season.

George Jenkins' loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
