Basketball Recap: Falkner Piles Up the Points Against Ashland

There's no place like home for Falkner, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They breezed by the Ashland Blue Devils to the tune of 66-27 on Friday. With the Eagles ahead 36-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Falkner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Garner, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigha Stickland, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Falkner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Falkner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Ashland, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Ashland is facing Baldwyn at the right time seeing as Baldwyn is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
