 If Otis was feeling good  off their  17-2 takedown of Prairie last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Otis Bulldogs'  rough  11-2 loss to the Flatirons Academy Bison  on Monday might stick with them for a while. Otis has not had much luck with Flatirons Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
  Mitchell Stivers was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with five  stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to  hits, as he's  now  hit three or more in the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Carter Wells, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 On Flatirons Academy's side,  Carson Gabbert made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. Gabbert was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Rex Beck, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  Jude Meyer was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
 Otis' defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Flatirons Academy, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
 Otis will head out on the road to  challenge  Weldon Valley at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Otis is facing Weldon Valley at the right time seeing as Weldon Valley is stuck on  a  ten-game losing streak. As for Flatirons Academy, they will be playing at home against Denver Christian at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
