Volleyball Recap: Matanzas Pirates vs. Nease Panthers
Matanzas lost against Nease back in September of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Panthers.
While Matanzas was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23.
Leading Nease to victory were Isabella Hayes and Elina Mesic. Hayes had 11 digs and two aces, while Mesic had 12 assists. Hayes has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.
Matanzas' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Nease, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.
Matanzas has already played their next contest (against River City Science Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Nease, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against George Jenkins on the 4th.
