Basketball Recap: Stella Yegge Key Part of Team Effort in Regents Win

St. Lucy won the last time they faced Southlands Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Regents snuck past the Eagles with a 26-22 win.

St. Lucy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stella Yegge, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks. With that strong performance, Yegge is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Adamari Cuevas, who scored nine points and five steals.

St. Lucy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Southlands Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, St. Lucy's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Monica Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southlands Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Webb at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
