Recap: Millbury Woolies vs. St. Bernard's Central Catholic Bernardians

The Millbury Woolies can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 35-34 photo finish over St. Bernard's Central Catholic. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Matteus Mateo was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Sergio Hernandez and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Millbury's victory.

Despite the loss, St. Bernard's Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Jarius Williams, who rushed for 290 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 16.1 yards per carry. Williams' longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Keegan Rose was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.

Millbury's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. Bernard's Central Catholic, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millbury is on the road again on Friday and play against Rockland at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Rockland is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Bernard's Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Lunenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Lunenburg is ranked 200th, while St. Bernard's Central Catholic is ranked 212th).
