Basketball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Buffalo two weeks ago, Fairfield came back down to earth. The Fairfield Eagles received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 70-53 to the Mexia Black Cats. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 849th, while the Black Cats are ranked 376th).

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Mexia, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Teague the next time they take the court. Mexia will head out to face Teague at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Fairfield will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
