Softball Game Preview: Fox Lane Foxes vs. Mamaroneck Tigers

The Fox Lane Foxes will face off against the Mamaroneck Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Fox Lane is looking for their season's first victory.

Harrison hit Fox Lane with a six-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Foxes fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 10-9. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Foxes' highest-scoring contest to date.

Sofia Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, Nora Antonaccio and Jojo Kerwar stepped up to the plate in a big way. Antonaccio went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Kerwar went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kerwar is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Sammi Saldutti, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Thursday. Mamaroneck lost 15-6 to White Plains. Mamaroneck has struggled against White Plains recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mamaroneck saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Barnes, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that Barnes has brought in this season.

Mamaroneck's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Fox Lane, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Fox Lane beat Mamaroneck 11-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Foxes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
