Recap: Winterboro Bulldogs vs. Pickens County Tornadoes
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Winterboro Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 38-29 to the Tornadoes on Friday. Winterboro's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Winterboro still got an impressive performance from Deonte Smoot, who rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Smoot's longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. Another player making a difference was Jemareo Clegg, who rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Rozowicz Cunningham, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Kemaurion Plott was in the mix as well, providing Pickens County with two touchdowns.
Winterboro's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Pickens County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Winterboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pickens County is on the road again on Friday and play against Wadley at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Wadley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last six contests.
