Baseball Recap: Rifle Takes a Loss

Rifle had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 9-11 to make it seven. They came up short against the Coal Ridge Titans, falling 13-3. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Rifle saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robbie Magnuson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Coal Ridge, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Coal Ridge's side, George Roberts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Roberts has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dylan Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rifle will challenge Battle Mountain at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Coal Ridge, they will take on Delta at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
