Westchester is 1-9 against University since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Comets will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 2:30 p.m.
Westchester made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hamilton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Comets fell just short of the Yankees by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Laylah Ali spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on two hits and racked up 21 Ks. Those 21 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Westchester saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Green, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, University beat Los Angeles CES 6-3 on Thursday.
Kayla Anzora made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ditagi Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sharlyn Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
University lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 3-1 when they post two or more home runs.
University pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Westchester, they now also have a losing record of 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Westchester has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Westchester couldn't quite get it done against University when the teams last played back in April as they fell 5-0. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
