Basketball Recap: Joseph Polite Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Evans

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Statesboro, Effingham County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Evans Knights by a score of 51-39. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Effingham County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Polite, who went 6 for 8 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Polite a new career-high in points. Anthony Davis was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points.

Effingham County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Evans, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Greenbrier the next time they take the court. Effingham County will host Greenbrier at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Evans will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
