Hunt hasn't had much luck against Fike recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Golden Demons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hunt will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Rocky Mount, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Warriors blew past the Gryphons 30-9 on Friday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.
Doryan Jones produced another solid performance rushing for 194 yards and two scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hunt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Hunt's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. It was truly a group effort as Cyntarion James, Judah Harris, and CJ Dickerson picked up two apiece. With that strong performance, James is now averaging an impressive 7 total tackles per game. Trevorus Cooper was another major factor on D, making 17 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Fike didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against C.B. Aycock on Friday, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Demons.
A big part of Fike's win came down to the chemistry between Sam Finch and his top target Braylen Loftin. Finch rushed for 54 yards and a pair of TDs while Loftin picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Loftin is becoming a predictor of Fike's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Demari Lewis, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Fike didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Devarian Archie and Loftin. Archie is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Hunt's record is now 7-2. As for Fike, their record now sits at 4-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Hunt has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 246.1 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Fike, though, as they've been averaging only 84.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Hunt took their victory against Fike in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 40-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
