Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Brooks' Fifth in Last Six Outings

Brooks won the last time they faced Buckhorn and things went their way on Monday too. The Brooks Lions came out on top against the Buckhorn Bucks by a score of 11-8.

Brooks got a big performance out of Mackenzie Fuqua, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Fuqua a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Karley Moreland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Brooks has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Buckhorn and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Brooks Lions face off against Central Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buckhorn, they will host Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
