Volleyball Recap: Gibbs Eagles vs. Alcoa Tornadoes

Gibbs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alcoa Tornadoes. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Gibbs' offense was headlined by Annie Buckner and Rebekah Spierdowis, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Macy Ramsey and her seven assists. Peyton Hargis controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Gibbs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Alcoa, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Gibbs has already played their next game (against Berean Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Alcoa also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against South-Doyle.
