Signal Mountain was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against East Ridge on Monday. The Signal Mountain Eagles blew past the East Ridge Pioneers 24-0. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Signal Mountain got a great performance from Carter Gayton as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cash Keene was a standout: he scored a run while going 1-for-2. John Zimmerman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

The victory got Signal Mountain back to even at 4-4. As for East Ridge, they dropped their record down to 2-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Signal Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against East Ridge: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
