Basketball Recap: Oshalaya Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lincoln over DSST: Cedar

Lincoln has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 53-28 to the DSST: Cedar Falcons on Friday. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Oshalaya Davis, who posted 11 points and four blocks. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hawa Gueye, who had 11 points.

DSST: Cedar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amaya Paul, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Paul has scored at least a third of DSST: Cedar's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raniya Paul, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for DSST: Cedar, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Lincoln has already played their next match, a 35-33 defeat against Gateway on the 15th. As for DSST: Cedar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-23 victory against Bruce Randolph on the 18th.
