Softball Recap: Cushing Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

While Cushing didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the LEAD Academy Lions on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bearkats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cushing's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Willis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Cushing's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for LEAD Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Cushing will take on Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for LEAD Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Diboll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
