Basketball Recap: Olympia Comes Up Short

Olympia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Calvary Christian Academy Lions, falling 63-40. The Titans were down 50-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Olympia lost, don't look at Ava Pazos. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. That was a full 45% of Olympia's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Makila Sims was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Keeva Heggins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Calvary Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 steals. Heggins has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexis Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.

Olympia's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
