Basketball Recap: Northview Comes Up Short

Northview lost against Southwest DeKalb back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Northview Titans were beaten by the Southwest DeKalb Panthers 97-56. The Titans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwest DeKalb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaron Burks, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Burks has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Messiah Mergan, who scored 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Southwest DeKalb, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Northview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest DeKalb, they have already played their next matchup, a 67-49 victory against St. Pius X Catholic on the 13th.
