Baseball Game Preview: Advanced Math & Science Academy Eagles vs. Hopedale Blue Raiders

Advanced Math & Science Academy is 0-3 against Hopedale since April of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Blue Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Advanced Math & Science Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Advanced Math & Science Academy gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Worcester Tech by a score of 9-5.

The team relied heavily on Trevor Petty, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. CJ Skowronek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Hopedale earned a 7-2 win over Auburn on Friday.

Hopedale is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Advanced Math & Science Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Advanced Math & Science Academy came up short against Hopedale when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
