Bailey Hape leads a balanced attack to beat Daviess County

Recap: Evansville Reitz Panthers vs. Daviess County Panthers

The Evansville Reitz Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Daviess County on Friday as Evansville Reitz made off with a 53-31 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Evansville Reitz.

Evansville Reitz's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Hape, who shot 6-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Norah Miller, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Daviess County saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Lane scored 12 points. The game was Lane's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Briley Henry was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Evansville Reitz's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Daviess County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Evansville Reitz and Hancock County will face off at 4:45 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hancock County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 171st in Kentucky, while Evansville Reitz is ranked 49th in Indiana). Daviess County and Union County will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
