Softball Recap: Rudder Rangers vs. Montgomery Bears

Rudder had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-20 to make it 14. They lost 15-0 to the Montgomery Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.

As for Montgomery, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-13. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

For Montgomery's part, Anabella Kilpatrick looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Hannah Pettyjohn was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kinlyn Mills, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Rudder nor Montgomery have any future games scheduled.
