Basketball Recap: Wausau West Falls Despite Big Games from Ayla Christensen and Olivia Colwell

Wausau West was the 56-33 winner over D.C. Everest when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wausau West Warriors fell 54-44 to the D.C. Everest Evergreens on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Wausau West had strong showings from Olivia Colwell, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 12 points, and Ayla Christensen, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Mead, who had four points.

Wausau West's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for D.C. Everest, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Wausau West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-25 victory against Wausau East on the 10th. As for D.C. Everest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-32 defeat against Shawano Community on the 11th.
