Football Recap: Pender's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pender couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Shelby-Rising City Huskies on Friday, falling 28-6. The Pendragons' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Zander Welsh threw for 120 yards and one TD. Ryan Krueger was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Trevor Trimble rushed for 35 yards.

It was another big night for Carter Eickmeier, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns for Shelby-Rising City. Eickmeier's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 143 rushing yards.

Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Shelby-Rising City, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Pender does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shelby-Rising City, they will take on Crofton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
