Basketball Recap: Coral Reef Comes Up Short

Coral Reef played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 93-68 to the Central Rockets. The loss continues a trend for the Barracudas in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now lost three in a row.

Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keri Foster, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Foster a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Marlon Gaitan, who went 7 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and six rebounds.

Coral Reef's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Coral Reef will take on American in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in American's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. Central and Reagan will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.6 points per game this season.
