Basketball Recap: Spoto Comes Up Short

Spoto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Jefferson Dragons, falling 62-14. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.

Jefferson found their leader in sophomore Damaria Pitcher, who posted 32 points. The game was Pitcher's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Azariah Johnson, who earned 12 points.

Spoto's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Jefferson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-10.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Spoto has already played their next match (against Southeast), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jefferson has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Blake.
