Preview: Johnson Atomsmashers vs. Groves Rebels
Johnson is 10-0 against Groves since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Johnson Atomsmashers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Groves Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Johnson had to settle for a 38-36 defeat against Liberty County.
Meanwhile, Groves' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 22nd straight loss. They suffered a rough 49-24 loss at the hands of Beach.
Johnson's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Groves, they dropped their record down to 1-22 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Johnson against Groves when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 57-21 win. Will Johnson repeat their success, or does Groves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
