Football Recap: Ignacio Starts Season with Loss at Home

Ignacio unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 62-36 to the Manual Thunderbolts on Friday. The Bobcats lost against the Thunderbolts in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 22-19 score last time.

Leading Manual to victory were Marcus Keller and Ellis NamuWeusi-Clements. Keller rushed for 88 yards and two TDs on only nine carries, while NamuWeusi-Clements rushed for 59 yards and three touchdowns. Those 88 rushing yards gave Keller a new career-high. Khriba Jackson Jr got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Ignacio didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 50-22 loss against Cedaredge on the 29th. As for Manual, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Denver West at 6:00 p.m. on the 12th.
